Crispy, crunchy, and packed with bold flavour, these Air Fryer Szechuan Chicken Wonton Tacos are a fun twist on taco night. Using crispy Lian Huat square wonton wrappers instead of traditional taco shells, these mini tacos are filled with savoury spicy chicken and topped with fresh crunchy slaw for the perfect balance of texture and flavour.

Wonton Tacos
- 18 Lian Huat square wonton wrappers
- Oil spray
Chicken Filling
- 300g chicken mince
- 2 tsp of crushed garlic
- 1 tsp of crushed ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp Szechuan sauce or chili oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp brown sugar or honey
Slaw & Toppings (Optional)
- Shredded lettuce or cabbage
- Julienned carrot
- Spring onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds
- Fresh coriander
Method
Lightly spray both sides of the wonton wrappers with oil. Fold each wrapper gently into a taco shape and place carefully into the air fryer basket so they hold their shape.
Air fry at 180°C for 3–5 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook chicken mince until browned.
Add garlic and ginger, then cook until fragrant.
Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, Szechuan sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the chicken is glossy and coated.
Fill each crispy wonton taco with the chicken mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, carrot, spring onions, sesame seeds, and fresh coriander.
Serve immediately while crispy.
